On the 15th of June in 1940 the Soviet Union broke the treaties and sent 150 soldiers of red army to occupy the Republic of Lithuania. This incident was the start for the deportation to Siberia in 1941 and 50 years lasting occupation. Nowadays this day is commemorated by inviting people to various events during which the history of Lithuania is remembered. Also people can watch special programs where those who lived in occupation and saw everything by themselves share their memories.
