On the 15th of July in 1410 near Tannenberg and Grunwald there was a battle among united forces of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Kingdom of Poland and the Teutonic Order. This battle is called Žalgiris battle. However, both sides announced truce eventually and on the 1st of February in 1411 the Torūnė treaty was signed by both sides of the battle. This conflict was one of the biggest battles of Medieval knights’ armies and from the XIX century it became a national myth of Poland and Lithuania. Nowadays there are various commemorations of Žalgiris battle, events, expositions, educational games and art workshops organized.
