Vladimiras Čekasinas is a Lithuanian jazz guru and legend, and is a winner of the National Prize for Culture and Arts He is a master of improvisation, a talented musician on the jazz stage, and the creator of the Vilnius jazz school. His career began as a member of the legendary GTČ Trio, and in 1981 he founded his own quartet, with whom he has appeared in all but a few of the world’s most famous jazz festivals. The maestro’s discography includes more than 60 albums, and he creates music for the cinema and theatre and tutors his students according to his own original methodology for teaching jazz.
